Silk tales begin from farms in Iran's Golestan

Golestan province, the hidden gem of Iran's silk industry, has been weaving its way as the third largest producer of silkworms in the country.

Golestan province, the hidden gem of Iran's silk industry, has been weaving its way as the third largest producer of silkworms in the country.

Over 3,000 boxes of silkworm eggs are produced annually by silkworm farming in the cities of Minoudasht, Kalaleh, Ghalikesh, Maraveh Tappeh, Ramian, Azadshahr, Gonbad-e Kavus, and Aliabad.

These cities are well known for their potential in silkworm farming, but the main hub for silkworm production in this province is Minoudasht.

Silkworm farming is a profession that can reap huge profits for farmers in a short amount of time and with little capital investment, making it a highly desirable occupation in Golestan province.

The province has great potential for silkworm farming, and it is hoped that infrastructure will be developed to support the growth of this industry.
